The distance between the personal and the collective shrinks in the work of Francheska Alcántara, Yanira Collado, and David Antonio Cruz. Through portraiture, large-scale installations, and the creation of artifacts, the artists recover lost narratives and the intimacies embedded within them. This conversation examines how each artist engages material and felt memory to uncover suppressed histories.
The conversation is moderated by Abdiel D. Segarra Ríos, Curador Asociado, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Puerto Rico, and Josh T. Franco, Executive Director, U.S. Latinx Art Forum.
